Informational tool, not advice

The Estate Funding Calculator produces estimates for planning and education. It is not financial advice, not legal advice, not tax advice, and not a substitute for a licensed professional — such as a lawyer, licensed financial planner, tax agent, or estate administrator. Any decision made solely on the basis of the calculator's output is taken at your own risk.

What the numbers are based on

Estimates use published Malaysian reference rates — executor / administrator scales, stamp duty tiers, estate duty and Small Estate Distribution (SED) thresholds, court and legal fees under the Solicitors' Remuneration Order — as of the version date shown above. Rates change from time to time and individual providers may quote differently. Verify current figures with the relevant authority or a qualified professional before acting.

Accuracy and limitations

The tool makes simplifying assumptions — for example, that nominated insurance proceeds bypass the estate, that EPF nominee payouts fall outside the estate, and that SED applies below the stated valuation limit. Real situations vary. Foreign assets, trust structures, contested or missing wills, Shariah estates distributed under Faraid, business interests, jointly-held property, and similar complexities may materially change the outcome and are not fully modelled here.

Acceptable use

Personal, non-commercial planning and educational or advisory-support use is fine. Do not use the tool to provide regulated financial advice to clients without independent professional judgment. Do not enter another person's personal data without their consent.

Your data is yours

The calculator runs in your browser and does not send your inputs to us. See the Privacy Policy for details. Export, import, and shareable-link features are user-controlled; you are responsible for what you choose to share.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The tool is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, the authors and operators disclaim liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on the calculator's output.

Intellectual property

The calculator's interface, calculation logic, copy, and branding are © Legacy Advisory Program. Underlying fee schedules, statutory rates, and regulatory references are public information and are not claimed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with your use of the calculator are subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use of the calculator after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Check the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
